CC-isms

CC is chatting up a storm now, and her adorable mispronunciations and funny sayings are already starting to transition to more correct words.  I want to take a minute to record some of her 2-year-old speech so I don't forget it!

Pizza continues to be pronounced "dibbadee," much to my delight.  I have no idea where it came from, but it's so cute and unique.  Her favorite pizza place gives out "dibbadee dough" to the kids.  It makes me laugh every time.

Sunglasses are inexplicably called "gerr-dice."  Although, oddly, she can say "glasses" correctly.

"Dirty" is now pronounced correctly, unlike "goggygah," the bizarre way she used to say it.  Sniff.

She's pronouncing Little Man and Sweet Pea's names much better now.  Not so well that a stranger could tell what they are, but for those of us who know what she's trying to say, it's a noticeable improvement.

Collectively, she calls them "guys."  When she goes into their room after they wake from their naps, she greets them, "Hey, guys!"  And trying to direct their play, "Over here, guys!"

"Woy" is Rory, our dog.  Granted, that's a hard one to say.

Grandma and Grandpa are "Yama" and "Yampa."  She pronounces Memere (Mem-ay) and Pepere (Pep-ay) pretty well.

Corduroy, her book and matching stuffed animal, is "Go Boy."

Finger is "burner."  As in, "Hurt me burner!"

The letter F is generally pronounced as a B.  So she balls down, Mommy talks on the bone, the ban keeps the house cool, etc.

The letter S is generally pronounced as a D.  So she throws dicks to Rory, we go to church on Dunday, etc.

She often calls me "Mom" and MJ "Dad."  Isn't she too young for that?  Shouldn't we be "Mommy" and "Daddy" for a few more years?!

Lemonade is "yemma-ake."  Cheerios are "Jerr."  Water is "wahr" and banana is still "bah."

She has started saying "um" and I never knew that word could be so cute!  I'll ask her what she wants for her snack, and she'll say, "Um ..." as she thinks about it.

She still puts "no" at the end of a sentence if she doesn't want something.  As in, "Asparagus tastes good no," and "Want take nap no."

She's very interested in jogging lately.  MJ and I both jog, so it's no surprise.  But she's taken to declaring that whatever she has in her hands is her "running _____."  Yesterday she had MJ's computer cord, and said that it was "me running cord."  And this morning it was "me running milk."  It's especially odd, because neither MJ nor I run with any kind of gear at all.  So I'm not sure where she's getting this!
