School!

Today was CC's first day of school, and frankly, I didn't know what to expect. She was hysterical almost every day when I dropped her off at that same building for camp in June, but she's been talking excitedly about school lately and insisting that she wouldn't cry.

We attended Open House last week, so she could meet her teachers and see her classroom, and that went very well. This morning we all went to breakfast together as a family (CC picked IHOP and ordered the funny-face pancakes) before bringing her to school. She was all smiles.

Fortunately, when we arrived at the doorway of her classroom, she walked right in without even looking backwards. We had to call her back to give us hugs and say good bye! MJ and I watched her for a few minutes through the one-way mirror, and she was quiet but calm.

When I picked her up after lunch, she was one happy little girl. Her teachers said she did great, and that they never would have known it was her first day of preschool (most of the other kids have had preschool in previous years). Music to this mama's ears! CC talked a blue streak all the way home about the toys she played with, the songs she learned, what she did on the playground, etc.

Here's to a great year!
