Camp Fun in the Sun

Today was the last day of camp in our neighborhood (the counselors leave for college tomorrow!), so the kids' week of fun is over. But they had a great time!

Proudly wearing the shirts they decorated in camp yesterday

The parents were invited to arrive 30 minutes early for pickup today to attend an end-of-camp ceremony. The counselors played a cute slide show of pictures from the week, in which the Morrison kids featured predominantly.

Each child was given an award. CC was named "most caring camper," mainly for her constant attendance on her sister. (Every day, CC assured me that she'd stay right next to Sweet Pea, and help her with things, and tell the counselors if she needed anything. I'm not sure Sweet Pea appreciated all this attention, but it was hers whether she wanted it or not!)

Little Man had the "best smile." This is a surprise to no one, as his smile could melt ice in Antarctica!

Sweet Pea was named "best hugger." The counselors introduced the award by saying she was one of their favorites, because she was always hugging them. Sweet Pea?! Hugging relative strangers? What?! I almost laughed out loud. I'm not sure why my normally hesitant, incredibly shy, Mommy-centric child was so comfortable with the teenagers who ran the camp, but I was thrilled to hear it.

In general I was thrilled by the kids' experience at camp. I never would have guessed that I could drop all three kids off somewhere for four days in a row, and never once have any tears! Everyone had a great week ... including Mommy.
