Dollhouse Bookshelf

I saw this bookshelf for just $25 on a consignment board I'm on, and I jumped at the chance. What a darling piece for CC's room! Sure, it wasn't the colors I wanted, but re-painting it should be easy enough, right?

Well, "easy" is relative. The project is done, but instead of taking just a few days like I thought, it took closer to two weeks. Two weeks of taking up space in my garage, so I parked my car out in the driveway. Two weeks of putting on coat after coat of caulk, primer, white paint and aqua paint, and waiting for it to look the way I wanted it to.

Close enough. I learned that I actually hate painter's tape -- I think it would have been easier to freehand it. But oh well. Now we have plenty of room for more books! And although CC refused to be in this picture, Sweet Pea and Little Man were happy to help.
