Dane's Space Party

Dane turns 5 this week, and his outer space party was last weekend, at an awesome science museum. The party was adorable, and the kids all had a great time.

Susan did a fantastic job decorating, with rocket centerpieces and space-themed snacks (Milky Ways, anyone? Moon Pies?).

There was a NASA identification badge waiting for each child, with their picture and a job description. CC was the Mission Planner; Sweet Pea was the Planetary Geologist; and Little Man was the Space Physicist. I thought the badges were a really cool touch.

My mom made an incredible space shuttle cake. When my dad carried it in through the museum, every kid in sight came running to ooh and aah!

The kids were riveted by the teacher, who had them all doing "junior astronaut" training.

CC thought it best that she wear her space socks. Who was I to say no?

Happy birthday, Dane, you big 5-year-old! I can't believe it was 5 years ago that I held you for the first time. And to think that CC's fifth birthday isn't far behind ... !
