Pumpkin Patch

While our visitors were here last week, we'd wanted to go to a pumpkin patch on Saturday with Brien, but unfortunately the weather did not cooperate. Seriously, this was the 4th or 5th Saturday in a row that we'd had to cancel plans due to rain! Fortunately Monday was beautiful, so CC and MJ played hooky and we went, albeit minus Brien.

First we headed to the petting zoo.

Checkin' out the chickens. Notice CC's beautiful french braids?

Our little pumpkins

Then we headed out to the fields to pick our pumpkins. Sweet Pea surprised us all by being the best wagon-puller, despite her diminutive size. We picked out one large pumpkin for our family, and each child picked their own small pumpkin.

Lastly, we climbed on the hay bales and explored the old-fashioned tractors and coaches (where the kids had -- by far -- the most fun).

Unfortunately there were no hayrides or pony rides, because it wasn't a weekend. Hopefully next year we'll have more luck with the weather!
