Ginger-Turkey

Last week we received a sweet package in the mail from Grandma. It was a gingerbread turkey kit! So one afternoon this week, we gave it a shot.

I whipped up the frosting, and had each child tell me where to put dollops of it, to "glue" the candies down. They picked pretty symmetrical spots, surprisingly. The outlines and face were done by me (in case you couldn't guess). But it was a lot of fun, and only about half the candies were eaten.

This thing was pretty front-heavy, and until the frosting fully dried, I was pretty convinced we'd come downstairs the next morning and find Tom face-down on the tray. But fortunately, he seems to be holding fast.

He's safely atop our refrigerator now, to keep him away from Rory (naturally). He'll be our centerpiece for Thanksgiving next week. Bravo!
