Thanksgiving Weekend

We're winding down a great Thanksgiving weekend. Grandma and Grandpa flew in on Thursday morning, and MJ picked up Uncle Brien for the holiday too. I'd been wanting Brien to spend a holiday with us for a while, so it was particularly special, especially since Sally was here too. With the exception of an air mattress malfunction the first night, the visit was smooth and Brien was extremely happy to be with us.

MJ smoked the turkey in the Big Green Egg, and it was delicious. Everything else came together nicely too. I made three pies (apple, pumpkin, and -- at MJ's request -- blueberry), and two days later, they're almost gone. Even the ginger turkey was gobbled:

The rest of the weekend was lovely, too. CC demonstrated her reading skills:

And we all participated in a tea party for King Little Man and Queen Sweet Pea:

The weather was beautiful, so we took several nice walks and bike rides outside.

We also FaceTimed Anna and Abby several times. I love how technology helps families and friends stay close! CC, Little Man and Sweet Pea feel like they know their cousins well, despite not having seen them for more than two years.

Tomorrow MJ and Grandpa are taking Little Man and CC to a hockey game, while Grandma and Sweet Pea and I run some special errands and spend a nice afternoon together.
