4th of July

On Sunday we hosted Memere, Pepere, Aunt Karen, Uncle Patrick, and Braxton and Bryson for a 4th of July cookout. It was actually really relaxing, after driving all day home from the beach on Saturday, to sit around at the house and hang out with the family.

Check out the patriotic cake Aunt Karen made!

The bounce house, slip n slide and water balloons were the highlights of the day for sure! The kids all had a blast and the grownups did too.

Note: It's shocking that Little Man had fun getting splashed and sprayed! He has always hated anything that splashed him. Maybe he's getting more adventuresome? Or maybe having other kids doing it peer-pressured him into doing it, too?

The next day we spent the morning with Memere and Pepere, playing games and beading patriotic necklaces. Later that evening, MJ and I let the kids try the aforementioned sparklers

And now the busiest part of our summer is officially done. The next two months will be mostly spent lazing around Miss Alice's pool, hanging out at home, and having playdates with friends. Bring it on!
