Thanksgiving Fun

For Turkey Day we were at my parents' with Jon and Susan, and Patrick and Karen joined us on Friday for football and leftovers. There was tons of delicious food, and plenty of fun activities for the kids.

Memere gave the kids manicures -- even Little Man got in on the action. Pepere did a lot of horsing around. Bryson learned how to ride his big boy bike without any training wheels for the first time. Six of the seven cousins "helped" MJ take Rory for a walk (Sweet Pea was inside having a snack with Pepere). We celebrated Braxton and Bryson's birthdays (again!) since my parents weren't able to make their party two weeks ago.

Our three kids had their first "sleepover" in the bonus room with Dane and Hayden -- they amazed us by drifting peacefully to sleep without any monkey business at all (snort). We watched The Polar Express for the first time, all together -- a really cute experience I think we'll start doing every Thanksgiving. All in all, it was a pretty great holiday.

It was marred by just two events at the end: Jon and Susan were rear-ended by a pickup truck on their way home Friday night. Fortunately they're all okay, and my mom was able to meet them with my car (and carseats) to drive them home. Fingers crossed that Susan's car is not totaled.

The second unfortunate event is that Rory got into Braxton and Bryson's birthday cupcakes, eating one entire platter, including the large wooden skewers. More fingers crossed that she will come out of this okay.
