World Book Day

Last Thursday was World Book Day, and CC's elementary school celebrated by having the children dress up as their favorite book characters. CC chose Ladybug Girl, from a series of books by husband-and-wife team David Soman and Jacky Davis.

I adore the Ladybug Girl books, because they portray a very independent and confident girl who explores the outdoors, but still likes to play dress-up. Kind of like CC!

CC's school also encouraged parents to come read to their children's classes throughout the day today. I took a shift before lunch, reading -- what else? -- "Ladybug Girl" and "Ladybug Girl and Bumblebee Boy."
