Bank Accounts

A few weeks ago, we let the kids empty out their piggy banks. MJ and I helped them roll all the coins, which was a good exercise in sorting and math. In the end, they had a grand total of $41 and some leftover change. 

Then we went to the bank and opened up savings accounts for everyone.

MJ and I fronted the initial deposit of $25 in each account. We also had good conversations with the kids: about the importance of saving money, and helping those less fortunate. They agreed to donate $2 from each of their $13 shares to the church. 

But their favorite part? The lollipops.
