Visiting Memere and Pepere

My parents invited the kids to visit them again, one at a time, like they did last fall. I love that the kids get the chance to spend special one-on-one time with their grandparents, and -- bonus! -- it gives me and MJ a bit of a break (only having 2 kids instead of 3!).

Sweet Pea went first this time, because she was last in the fall. She made pudding and muffins, went hiking, watched Soul, and played tons of board games. My parents allowed each kid to pick out two small gifts, and Sweet Pea selected two sets of Matchbox cars (naturally).

Little Man got to stay a few extra days because his visit was curtailed by Halloween last time. He made the most of it by making chocolate pudding and brownies, watching The Force Awakens, and riding bikes around their neighborhood. He picked Lego sets for his special gifts.

Last was CC, who had her turn over Valentine's Day. But Memere and Pepere let her have plenty of treats while she was there, and we saved some of our Valentine's goodies for her when she returned. She baked cinnamon rolls and apple cake, played non-stop with a doll from my childhood, read four new books, and picked a fashion coloring book and a new Barbie for her gifts.

I'm glad they all had a great time, but I was also very glad to be back together as our family of five again. It makes my heart happy that my kids get to see both sets of grandparents so often, and know them so well. I never had the chance to see my own grandparents very frequently, and I love that my kids consider all four of their grandparents a part of their daily lives. ❤
