Life Lately

The kids are finally back at school (two days a week) and we're all loving it. I can't believe I'm actually saying this, but it's nice that they're home three days a week and only at school two days. On their "home" days, they have so much more time to finish up their schoolwork and practice piano, and then we can play games or bake cookies or do art projects. But then again, on their school days, their teachers are the ones who make sure they get all their work done, so I am blissfully out of the equation.

Anyway, here's what we've been up to:

Sweet Pea got a Bedazzler for Christmas, and has practiced on lots of different things like her craft apron and CC's bathrobe. Little Man was really excited and asked her to bedazzle his beloved Mandalorian shirt. He loves it -- and I'm sure it's the most fabulous Mandalorian shirt ever made!

Apparently 12 hours a week of gymnastics is not enough for Sweet Pea, because she is constantly practicing at home. Roundoffs, cartwheels, stretching, conditioning, twirling, jumping. I finally looked up the official measurements of a balance beam and taped it off in the upstairs hallway so she can practice her beam skills at home.

CC has been learning to sew (ever since we made her Valentines), and can't get enough. She's learned how to swap out the presser foot for decorative/embroidery stitches that I've never even tried, and has made all kinds of fun crafts for her dolls.

Amber has a new coat to keep her warm on our chilly morning walks. It fits her really well, and she doesn't seem to mind it at all. We decided on the color as a family, and I think the green looks great.
