Happy birthday to our twinkies! They're 9 whole years old! Nine-year-olds seemed so old to me in the early years, yet now we have two of them.
"Actually, Mommy," said Sweet Pea this morning, "is it 8:42am yet? Because if it's not, I'm not nine yet."
Little Man is our scientist, our architect, our Star Wars fanatic (specifically The Mandalorian), and a self-declared Lego Master. He loves mac n cheese, wontons, hot dogs, and cheeseburgers -- but no vegetables. He will happily watch Army Football all day, curled up on the couch with MJ. He reads constantly, mostly MJ's and my old Calvin and Hobbes books. His favorite color is purple. He wears mostly size 6/7 in clothes, and hates anything with buttons.
He is still very fearful of many situations, and has other behavioral concerns, so we continue to look for explanations and treatments to help him. We might be nearing some answers as we start appointments with a new specialist soon, so say some prayers that we are able to manage his symptoms better in the future. Maybe this next year will be the turning point!
Sweet Pea is our non-stop gymnast, constantly flipping and twisting. She loves drawing and playing with her little toys, but most of all: her cars! They are still her most prized posessions, and she was beside herself to get a huge Hot Wheels garage for her birthday (thanks, Memere and Pepere!). She hates to wear skirts or dresses of any kind, and can't get enough rainbows and yellow in her life.
Sweet Pea's favorite foods are hot dogs, chicken nuggets, asparagus, avocado, and pork belly. She is also wearing size 6/7, but she is so thin that many things -- especially pants -- are too baggy on her. It's surprising, considering she eats like a lumberjack!
Blessings abound with these two! I pray that God continues to keep them safe and cover them with grace in the next year. Bring on 10!
