CC is on Cloud Nine because she was just chosen for Safety Patrol! At the kids' school, 5th graders are given leadership responsibilities like hall monitors, bus guides, carpool helpers, library assistants. As a group, they're called the Safety Patrol. Claire filled out her (lengthy) application several weeks ago, gathered recommendations from the required teachers and staff at school, and waited patiently to learn if she was accepted. Yesterday she got the happy news!
For the next few months, she will be working in the bus lot every morning before school, and on the carpool line every day after school. She has an official uniform, and slips of paper to give to kids for "Caught Doing Great." She can also write people up for infractions ... God help us!
