Annual Outing

We spent our first day of Christmas Break with Miss Alice, enjoying our annual Christmas outing. First we went to the bookstore, where she treated each of the kids to the book of their choice.

Then we treated her to lunch at a nice restaurant nearby, where the kids all ate a ton of food (especially CC, who destroyed a rack of ribs).

As if that wasn't a nice enough outing, afterwards we drove down to tour the annual Gingerbread House Competition. It was so fun! We sipped on hot chocolate as we admired all the entries. Some of our favorites were the Home Alone house (complete with treehouse and bad guys' van) and a Mario Brothers-themed house with delightfully detailed characters.

The kids want to enter their own creation next year! And we definitely should add this to our annual outing again in the future. Thank you, Miss Alice!
