Father's Day

It was a nice weekend, but a busy one! We had a show, Father's Day, Anna visiting from college, and the Pohls visiting from Pittsburgh, all at once! It was a flurry, but all happy things that were absolutely worth celebrating.

We learned a few days prior that Anna would be making an impromptu visit to stay with Grandma and Grandpa. She's been working in New York City during her summer break from college, and decided to come down for the weekend. We were so excited! We don't get to see her or Abby very often, so it was really special. We met at a cute French bakery for breakfast before one of the girls' Wizard of Oz performances. Macarons for everyone!

The kids were really excited to give MJ their Father's Day gift: a Lego F1 Ferrari. MJ has become quite the F1 fan over the last year or so, and Ferrari is his favorite team. It was a bit of a gamble, getting him such an elaborate Lego set when he hasn't had any experience with Legos since he was a kid. But I think it was a hit!

Pepere was also visiting for the weekend, to see the show and celebrate Father's Day with us. Unfortunately, he had to stay at a hotel (again!) because our house is far from ready to support guests (although we are in the process of moving back in after the demo and drying). But we enjoyed our time with him, and of course the girls were thrilled that he saw their performance. We ended the weekend with Mass and brunch on Sunday.

Any Father's Day I get to spend with my dad is a great Father's Day.
