Renovation Week 8

What a great week! So much happened, I didn't even get a chance to take pictures of it all.

First, the framing inspection happened Tuesday, so insulation went in on Wednesday, and our insulation inspection (our final inspection!) happened Thursday. Now there are no more inspections, so we control our own timeline.

The house with the final dormer window installed:

The drywall went in on Friday, which is the most dramatically obvious change. Real rooms! Real walls! Now I have a feel what the space will look like, and can start measuring for shelving and furniture.

MJ's room, inside the dormer:

CC's new room, with the double closets:

The end of our new hallway, where I'll have a large linen/tool closet:

Lastly, the side window, which used to be a double, is now a single. The window well has been adjusted and sealed, and the new window put in place. Windows = done.

Next week the drywall will be prepped for paint, which will take at least a week. Our contractor tells me we're realistically three weeks away from MJ and CC's rooms being completed.
