Sweet Pea was not so happy about the appointment. She refused to let the nurse take any of her vitals; pitched a fit about getting on the scale; and wouldn't stand up against the wall for a height measurement. We didn't even bother trying to take her blood pressure.
Fortunately, once the exam started, Sweet Pea warmed up a bit and answered a few questions. Remember when I thought she might be actually getting taller, possibly in the double digits in height? Well, she is a higher percentile than she's been in the past -- 8th percentile now -- but she's still not quite in double digits. She's a solid 35 inches tall (measured laying down, the way they measure infants, because she was throwing such a tantrum). Her weight is 25 pounds, 9 ounces, which is 4th percentile -- typical for her.
"Wow, he's social!" the doctor exclaimed as Little Man chattered away nonstop, even answering all the questions directed at Sweet Pea. I finally had to pick him up and cover his mouth so the doctor could talk to Sweet Pea.
A vision screening was also administered to both kids. This was the part of the appointment I was most interested in. CC failed the vision screening, and ended up needing glasses for 8 months to correct an astigmatism. But fortunately both Sweet Pea and Little Man passed the screening with flying colors, so at least for the time being they won't need glasses.
Afterwards, as promised, Mommy took them out for ice cream. Hooray for a good appointment!
