Happy 40th, Susan!

Last Saturday, Jon threw Susan a surprise 40th birthday party. It worked -- she was shocked! There was a great turnout with good food and wonderful friends and family. I think she was really touched that Jon planned such a nice event for her, and that so many people came to help her celebrate.

My mom made the cake, which combines several of Susan's favorite things: chocolate fudge, Boston Creme Pie, and chocolate-covered strawberries. Every bit of it was gone in record time -- even the crumbs!

Unfortunately Patrick and Karen weren't able to come, but the rest of the family took this nice picture. MJ is definitely not standing on his tip-toes, I swear.
