Happy Birthday, Dane!

Happy 11th to this big guy! I took the girls to his ninja warrior party over the weekend (Little Man, sadly, was quarantined at home), and we had a great time.

A coach took the kids all around the ninja obstacles, and soon they were bouncing and climbing and swinging all over the place. We were impressed with what Dane could do. Sweet Pea held her own, as well -- all her gymnastics strength and skills came into play.

Memere made a brownie cake for Dane, since he claims he doesn't like cake or chocolate (yet he likes brownies??). It was a huge hit for the cousins and all Dane's school friends.

Sometime in the early morning I woke to a thumping noise in the pitch black. My phone had died, and I had no idea what time it was. I went out into the hall to tell the kids to go back to sleep, and I saw Dane coming up the stairs in the dark. He casually informed me that it was already 7:15am. I was shocked! I haven't been able to sleep past 6:15 in years. I decided to go ahead and shower, get dressed, and get packed for our trip home. An hour later, when it was still dark, I started to get suspicious, and went downstairs to look at the microwave. It was 5:40. I will probably forgive him eventually.

On the drive home, I challenged the girls to see how many different states' license plates they could spot. They managed to get 34, which I thought was pretty good. After we returned home and unpacked the car, I perused their lists and spotted such gems as "Massichewsis," "Lawesiana," "Massery," and "Californya."
